Ensure Ynys Môn is front and centre of government policy

For years Ynys Môn has been poorly represented in Westminster by our MPs.  Our island needs someone fighting its corner and making sure that the people in power know and understand our local issues and assets.  My fights for Wylfa and a Freeport are well documented but I have also been working to make sure that Ministers know about Ynys Môn and support local projects.

Over the past year I have brought a number of VIPs to the island including:

  • The former Prime Minister Boris Johnson; Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Kwasi Kwarteng; Secretary of State for Wales Simon Hart and Energy Minister Greg Hands, who all visited Wylfa.
  • The Ministers for Apprenticeships and Skills, Levelling Up, Maritime, and Pensions who visited various sites and businesses.
  • The High Commissioner for Australia HE George Brandis QC.
  • Senior representatives of Bechtel, Westinghouse and Rolls-Royce all keen to look at Wylfa and other brownfield sites on Ynys Môn.

I am constantly promoting and talking about Ynys Môn in the House of Commons.

Let's work together to improve Ynys Môn
