In the Senedd on 11 January 2023 Sam Rowlands MS raised concerns about businesses struggling due to reduced footfall and trade in Menai Bridge.
In response, the Welsh Government’s Deputy Minister for Climate Change, Lee Waters MS, said
“…what's been very interesting is that the data, rather than the concerns and claims, have shown still a significant level of activity...I note that the Member of Parliament…has been heavily ramping up the concerns. But actually, the data doesn't fully bear that out, and the nature of the custom and people staying actually longer in the town centre, has been quite striking.”
On 20 January I held my third meeting with businesses from Menai Bridge and Beaumaris and they strongly dispute this claim.
If you own a business that has been affected by the closure of the bridge I need to hear from you. Please complete this short questionnaire as soon as possible and help me to fight for compensation and support if you need it.
