Yet again Ynys Môn is being left behind by Labour here in Wales.
𝙎𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 years ago, their 𝙤𝙬𝙣 strategic business case said that not investing in the third crossing would have "𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙨𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙮" which would "constrain the opportunity for future growth in Anglesey, surrounding areas and in particular impact on the ability of the Nuclear Power Programme to achieve its full potential."
In recent months our island has seen the fragility of our transport infrastructure when the Menai Suspension Bridge closed because the same Welsh Labour Government failed to carry out critical remedial work which they had known for 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 would be needed.
The UK government is investing millions to regenerate our Ynys Môn with targeted funding for structured programmes designed by local people to deliver the long term, sustainable benefits our communities desperately need.
Unfortunately Anglesey can never achieve its full economic potential whilst it is thwarted by the dire state of our infrastructure after 20 years of Labour neglect.
We deserve someone who can and will fight our corner in Cardiff.
Anglesey has no voice in Cardiff; it lacks the 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 and representation we desperately need in the Senedd.
Instead we can only sit and watch with deep frustration as the Welsh administration 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 on the one project in its gift that would deliver a step change to Anglesey's economic fortunes.
Ynys Môn is the greatest loser as the economic divide between the north and south of Wales gets ever wider.
For those in charge in Cardiff we are, quite simply, out of sight and out of mind.
