Tourism is vital to the economy and communities across Wales with thousands of jobs created and businesses supported. Wales welcomes over 100 million visits every year; people who spend their money, support local jobs and enjoy our spectacular attractions.

In 2021 I invited Anglesey businesses to a round table via Zoom with the UK Business Minister and in June 2022 I hosted a Tourism and Hospitality roundtable at M-SParc with Kate Nicholls OBE - CEO of UK Hospitality for her update on the challenges facing the sector and brain storming how we can support these businesses.

I regularly support local tourist businesses through my “local lunches” and “small business Saturday” features, and have recently enjoyed visits to places like Swtan Heritage Cottage, The Mad Hatter studio, and many more.

Mae twristiaeth yn hanfodol i’r economi a chymunedau ledled Cymru, gyda miloedd o swyddi’n cael eu creu a busnesau’n cael eu cefnogi. Mae Cymru’n croesawu dros 100 miliwn o ymweliadau bob blwyddyn; pobl sy’n gwario eu harian, yn cefnogi swyddi lleol ac yn mwynhau ein hatyniadau ysblennydd.

Yn 2021 fe wnes i wahodd busnesau Ynys Môn i gyfarfod bwrdd crwn drwy Zoom gyda Gweinidog Busnes y DU ac ym mis Mehefin 2022 fe wnes i gynnal cyfarfod bwrdd crwn Twristiaeth a Lletygarwch yn M-SParc gyda Kate Nicholls OBE - Prif Swyddog Gweithredol UK Hospitality i gael yr wybodaeth ddiweddaraf am yr heriau sy’n wynebu’r sector a thrafod sut gallwn ni gefnogi’r busnesau hyn.

Rydw i’n cefnogi busnesau twristiaeth lleol yn rheolaidd drwy fy nghynlluniau “ciniawau lleol” a “dydd Sadwrn busnesau bach”, ac yn ddiweddar rydw i wedi mwynhau ymweld â llefydd fel Bwthyn Treftadaeth Swtan, stiwdio’r Hetiwr Hurt, a llawer mwy.
