This bill will ensure workers rightly receive their tips in full in recognition of their hard work.

This Bill will provide a level playing field for businesses who already pass on tips to workers in a fair and transparent way.

The Bill will potentially benefit over 2m workers in the UK - that’s 7% of our workforce. This is particularly important in Wales where hospitality and tourism make up 12% of the workforce.

I was the first person in my family to stay on at school beyond the age of 16 and it was working in pubs, cafes and hotels that helped me pay my way through sixth form and university. I know how important tips are.

I was pleased to mention businesses across Anglesey in my speech - including Petes Burger Bar in Holyhead, the Gaerwen Arms, Sandy Mount Hotel, Sergio's Fish & Chips, Sea Shanty Cafe, Catch22 Brasserie, The Oystercatcher, Dylans Menai Bridge and the White Eagle, Rhoscolyn.

I also spoke about Aled Jones-Griffiths and his team at Coleg Menai who are working to drive better opportunity's in hospitality.

I highlighted how this bill had cross party support, support from unions like Unite and help from Kate Nicholls CEO UKHospitality.

This is a great opportunity for the sector to help set up the new Code of Practice. If you would like to get involved and feed into the new Code of Practice I am holding a roundtable discussion on Tuesday 18th October at Sandy Mount House -
