The UK Government was elected on a manifesto to take us out of the EU and level up the UK. Levelling up means making sure that areas of the UK that have been underfunded in recent years – like Ynys Môn – get inward investment so that local people have the same opportunities as more prosperous parts of the UK. I have been working hard to make sure that our island benefits from what is available.
However, funding and investment needs to be managed to make sure that it is the people of Ynys Môn who benefit. That is why my Local Jobs for Local People campaign is so important.
Whether you are a small local business already established on Anglesey or a global corporate looking at investing here, Local Jobs for Local People is for you.
By signing up to my Local Jobs for Local People campaign you commit to:
- employing local people for the roles you offer here on Ynys Môn, wherever possible
- promoting the use of the Welsh language amongst all those working on the island, including any employees not from here
- working with local training providers, where necessary, to help local people develop the skills they need to get the jobs you offer
- offering good-quality, well-paid, secure jobs
- using local businesses in your supply chain where possible.
Be part of something amazing for Ynys Môn - show your commitment by signing up to my Local Jobs for Local People campaign here.
