Virginia Crosbie with Brendan Bechtel CEO of Bechtel Corporation

Great to catch up with Brendan Bechtel, Chairman and CEO of Bechtel Corporation. Brendan kindly said :

"I was pleased to meet recently with Virginia Crosbie, Member of Parliament for Ynys Mon, which is home to our upcoming Wylfa Newydd nuclear energy project in Wales. We had a great conversation discussing the jobs that a megaproject of this nature creates for the island, Wales, and across the North.

Nuclear power offers long-term, sustainable careers across a whole variety of disciplines, including highly skilled craft professionals. These jobs will build on the island's nuclear pedigree and reinforce its proud Welsh identity. We look forward to working with Virginia and other partners to create more pathways for the local population to develop clean energy skills.

Working together we can make North Wales a leading region of clean energy generation, once more."

In this column I usually focus on the ‘bigger picture’ part of my role:   fighting to secure Anglesey Freeport in Westminster because I know how much our young people need the good quality, well paid jobs this will bring,  badgering Ministers, raising the profile of new nucl
