dementia

Mae fy etholwyr wedi cysylltu â mi’n rheolaidd am y pwnc hwn, ac rwy’n falch o fod wedi cael y cyfle i fynd i sesiwn wybodaeth yn y senedd a gynhaliwyd gan yr Alzheimer’s Research UK.

This is a subject that my constituents regularly contacted me about and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to attend a parliamentary information session hosted by Alzheimer's Research UK.

I have lobbied for better research, help, and support for all those living with dementia, or caring for someone who does. I have engaged with UK Government ministers, urging them to ensure dementia diagnosis are prioritised during hospital admissions. I also held a “Carers Together” event at The Dinorben Arms Hote with the charity tide - together in dementia everyday which bought together carers from across Anglesey to meet others in similar situations and provided signposting to support they may not have previously been aware of.

This Dementia Awareness Week they are encouraging people to take action if you are worried about memory loss, and they highlight

“ 𝘈 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘳.”

Yn ystod Wythnos Gweithredu Dementia maen nhw’n annog pobl i weithredu os ydyn nhw’n credu bod y cof yn pallu, gan bwysleisio:

In this column I usually focus on the ‘bigger picture’ part of my role:   fighting to secure Anglesey Freeport in Westminster because I know how much our young people need the good quality, well paid jobs this will bring,  badgering Ministers, raising the profile of new nucl
