Virginia Crosbie MP on the Shark Fin Committee

Proud to be on this important bill committee. This Bill prohibits the import and export of detached shark fins.

The Bill was presented by Christina Rees the MP for Neath.

In my speech - I congratulated the member for bringing this bill forward. I also highlighted how this bill will play an important role in education and spoke about my first job looking after dolphins with Terry Nutkin of Animal Magic, my many years as a qualified BSAC diver and the excellent role in marine conservation Bangor University’s School of Ocean Sciences plays.

The Defra Minister Rebecca Pows gave a passionate and impressive closing speech detailing the 54 species on the permit list.
