I have backed Rishi to be Prime Minister and I am delighted he will now take up residence at Downing Street.
But he faces huge challenges around the economy, the war in Ukraine and the cost of living. Other areas include energy security and I will be seeking assurances that new nuclear and renewables remain a key element for Anglesey going forward.
I believe Rishi has the intelligence and the credibility to take the country forward. He will bring stability and experience to the job. He has my full support.
The party now needs to get behind his leadership for the good of the country. We need to go back to delivering on our manifesto.
