Local jobs for local people

Ynys Môn MP Virginia Crosbie’s Local Jobs For Local People campaign is already a huge success with 20 companies signing up to employ islanders.

Since the start of the campaign in October local, national, and even international companies have vowed to give jobs to those who live on Anglesey.

Virginia said the drive would ensure local people benefitted from the investment and jobs coming to the island through the Freeport, green energy projects and plans for new nuclear power at Wylfa.

“I am absolutely thrilled so many companies have made the pledge to employ local people and it just goes to show how confident they are they will find the right recruits here on Ynys Môn,” said Virginia.

“The sheer breadth of those who have signed up shows the wide range of companies we have interested or already up and running from small local hospitality to huge international firms looking to build a nuclear power station.

“I will continue to find more companies willing to take my pledge and I thank all who have done so. In the meantime, my job to bring investment and jobs to the island continues.

For too long, Ynys Môn was neglected but not on my watch.”

  • Metex
  • Phoenix Metals
  • Jones Bros
  • Minesto
  • KEPCO
  • newcleo
