Living on an island as beautiful as Ynys Môn, we see every day the need to protect our precious wildlife, and the harm that can be done when critical natural ecosystems are disrupted.
Banning the import of hunting trophies from animals listed in annexes A and B of the Wildlife Trade Regulations, this Bill will help to protect our most vulnerable species from the risk of extinction.
I am proud to have supported Henry Smith MP’s Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill, one of the strongest bans on the importation of hunting trophies in the world. This important Bill is only possible because we have left the EU.
The Bill will now pass through the House of Lords before gaining Royal Assent.
