Anglesey Day in Westminster

Date
Wednesday, 22nd November 2023
Time
2-4pm
anglesey day

Join me in Westminster on 22 November for my annual Anglesey Day in Parliament event.

Last year Anglesey Council received £2.7m from the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund (CRF).  Having supported the Council’s bid for the fund I have been delighted at the many ways the money has been used in our communities.

One of the programmes funded by the CRF was the Digital Green Skills Academy – a collaboration between Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Greener Edge.

I have invited the companies that benefitted from that programme to host a stand at the event to tell MPs and Ministers what this funding has done to improve their businesses.  This is a great opportunity to showcase some of the incredible progressive businesses on Anglesey and highlight our island.

The event will run from 2-4pm in the Jubilee Room at the Palace of Westminster with opening remarks from the Secretary of State for Wales.  I have timed the event so that the journey can be made from Anglesey in one day so there is no need for an overnight stay in London.

Please complete the registration form below to let me know if you would like to come and I will send further details.  If you have any questions please contact me at [email protected].

What can an MP do?

Members of Parliament are elected to the House of Commons to represent the interests and concerns of all the people who live in their constituency, whether they voted for them at the General Election or not.
Energy Island

Driving Net Zero from Energy Island

The Energy Island programme was launched by Isle of Anglesey County Council with support from Welsh Government in 2010.  Unfortunately we produce less energy on Ynys Môn and employ fewer people in the energy sector now than we did when the programme started.  With the UK Government, I want

Local Jobs for Local People

The UK Government was elected on a manifesto to take us out of the EU and level up the UK.  Levelling up means making sure that areas of the UK that have been underfunded in recent years – like Ynys Môn – get inward investment so that our young people have the same opportunities as more prosper

Ensure Ynys Môn is front and centre of government policy

For years Ynys Môn has been poorly represented in Westminster by our MPs.  Our island needs someone fighting its corner and making sure that the people in power know and understand our local issues and assets.  My fights for Wylfa and a Freeport are well documented but I have also been wor
